gourmet breakfasts that delight
From the moment I arrived, I felt right at home. Zach and Carrie’s warm hospitality shone through, especially with Zach’s culinary skills in the kitchen. I savored a variety of meals including gluten-free crepes and delightful omelets. The home is tastefully decorated, preserving its historical charm while providing modern comforts. I enjoyed lounging in the library, and the chocolate chip cookies left in my room were a delightful surprise!
The only downside was the muddy parking situation due to the rain. It would have been nice to have gravel in the area for easier access. Additionally, during peak times, the bathroom could feel a bit busy.

The charm of Open Gates Bed & Breakfast captivated me upon arrival. The decor felt inviting and added to the overall ambiance of warmth. My room, the King Room, was clean and well-maintained, offering a great space to relax. I particularly appreciated the king-size bed. it provided excellent support for my back, making it easy to unwind after a long day. Breakfast was a standout feature, featuring homemade pastries and classic favorites. the bacon was especially delicious. Conversations with Zach, the owner and chef, were enjoyable and he catered to dietary preferences thoughtfully. I did notice that the parking area became muddy due to rain, which could be inconvenient for some. Additionally, although my experience was overall positive, the shared spaces felt a bit cramped at times during breakfast hours. Still, the warmth from the staff and the quality of the food made this a wonderful stop during my travels. I look forward to returning.
